Method
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare a baking sheet or pizza stone by dusting lightly with flour.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté for about 2 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant. Add ground beef and Italian seasoning. Cook for 5–6 minutes until browned, then drain any excess fat.
- Roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch round on a floured surface and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.
- Add dollops of ricotta cheese, then layer the cooked beef mixture on top.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly, followed by Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve warm.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, swap the ground beef for sautéed mushrooms or zucchini. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven for best texture.
