  • 1 pound pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¾ cup ricotta cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ pound lean ground beef or substitute with 1 cup chopped mushrooms or zucchini
  • ½ medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Prepare a baking sheet or pizza stone by dusting lightly with flour.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and sauté for about 2 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant. Add ground beef and Italian seasoning. Cook for 5–6 minutes until browned, then drain any excess fat.
  • Roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch round on a floured surface and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a ½-inch border around the edges.
  • Add dollops of ricotta cheese, then layer the cooked beef mixture on top.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly, followed by Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from oven, garnish with fresh basil, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, swap the ground beef for sautéed mushrooms or zucchini. Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven for best texture.
