Ingredients

  • 1 cup popcorn kernels – The crunchy base of your chips.
  • 2 tbsp cornmeal – Adds structure and crispiness.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil – Enhances richness and prevents dryness.
  • Seasonings of choice – Customize with garlic powder salt, chili powder, etc.
  • 1-2 tsp water optional – Helps bind the dough if too dry.

Instructions

  • Pop the Popcorn – Pop 1 cup of kernels and let cool. Remove unpopped pieces.
  • Grind – Pulse popcorn in a food processor until coarse (not powdered).
  • Mix – Combine popcorn crumbs, cornmeal, olive oil, and seasonings. Add water if dry.
  • Roll – Flatten dough between parchment sheets to about 1/8 inch thick.
  • Cut – Slice into chips using a knife or pizza cutter.
  • Bake – Bake at 375°F for 10-12 minutes until crispy.
  • Cool & Enjoy – Let cool, then serve or store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Texture Matters – Don’t over-process the popcorn; a slightly coarse grind gives the best crunch.
  • Thin for Crispiness – The thinner you roll the dough, the crispier the chips will be.
  • Watch While Baking – Chips can burn quickly, so keep an eye on them in the last few minutes.
